Everyone in my family likes our hotdogs grilled except my mom who prefers them either boiled or steamed.
I always though she was insane, but now I think it's just nostalgia from her days when she was a kid growing up in New York.

Steaming them is a step up, but if you really want some nice CRISP dogs you can cook them in some oil on a skillet

what realistic difference is there between steaming and boiling, you're just reheating them
of course the best method is indeed to toast them in a skillet
