No, but I've done a few of the English Heritage recipes. The most recent I made was the Victorian "curry"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WTyHiMvD7Y

It was really good, especially considering that it's a Victorian era mishmash of cuisines. I didn't use cucumbers because I don't like cooked cucumbers, and I didn't drain the butter because I'm not Lord and Lady Braybrooke. I've also made a few of the desserts, the gingerbread cake was the best.

The colonial down to Earth Towsend's recipes never appealed to me for whatever reason. Last year my friends and I did a "Titanic" dinner with the typical recipes people use for those. This year we're doing a "Marie Antoinette" dinner including some recipes from surviving menus on her private estate, so that should be fun.

I made these. They were light, crisp, and delicious. I used a hand mixer.

I've been meaning to make mushroom ketchup. The sauce sounds good, but the leftover powder sounds even better.

I mean you're going to pay about $200-300 for a mass produced genuine copper pot from a big brand store, so the price for a 3 gallon historical reconstructive pot made with hand riveting, handwrought iron, etc, isn't all that shocking.

I wouldn't buy it even if I had $600 to spend on historical larping, but, not all that shocking.

I think I saw it when I made ginger beer last time. I loved store-bought ginger beer, so ofc it turned out good. It was easy and delicious, but I should've made more than I did. I'm definitely going to make more when the weather gets warmer.

I don't know how well other yeasts would work, but I added wine yeast to mine because it's what I had. It worked well enough, so I'll do the same again.

>> No.13627405

>>13627374

I haven't followed his recipe, but steak and ale pies in general are really good. Just go easy with the ale because it's easy to add too much and make the filling bitter.

You know what I want? A reproduction of this style of chocolate pot. Townsend's has a really ugly red clay one but it's not the right style, even if it wasn't ugly.

Goosebay Workshops has a copper/tin one but... not quite what I want. http://www.goosebay-workshops.com/Coffee-Tea-Chocolate-and-Spirits
