>you get ostracized if you leave after one
Is this a thing in every country? WTF is wrong with having A DRINK? Why does it always have to turn into something expensive, crazy, and next-day-ruining?

And also, why are parking lots EVER a thing at bars?

In my experience, if it's office groups/coworkers then nobody really cares if you take it easy. I'll admit that if it's my friend group, "go out for a drink" tends to mean "go out for many drinks" but I wouldn't give a shit if one of the guys has something else they want to do.

>literally being shunned for leaving after a single drink
This has never happened ever. If you’re too much of a social pussy or pushover that you can’t leave after a drink even if you’re asked to stay longer you shouldn’t be going out drinking with others anyway. People get more sociable when they drink and also lower their inhibitions So you’d expect that sometimes they might want you to stay longer because they’ve chose to, but out of my years of drinking I have never seen someone literally cut off for wanting to leave.

>parking lot at bars ever?
Grow the fuck up and get real. Uber wasn’t a thing for long and in non urban areas where there is no public transportation people need options. DDs exist and being at a bar doesn’t mean you are forced to drink alcohol. One drink isn’t enough to impact most people’s ability to drive properly and no I’m not going to believe you if you try to tell me otherwise. I’ll just assume you’re 12 and took your first DARE class or a retard.

TLDR: OP is a whiny faggot who should grow up or stop going out since he obviously has no self control or social skills

One drink takes like 15-20 minutes to consume and does nothing to you. If you're going to leave after one, why the fuck even come? Why not just stand and talk in the work parking lot for an extra 15 minutes, or wherever people brought up the idea?

>And also, why are parking lots EVER a thing at bars?
This one I'll kinda agree on. If you begin drinking at a place with a parking lot, the bar should be culpable for proving that you have a ride home before serving you more than three drinks. And I drive over the "legal limit" all the time. Utah recently made it so one strong beer is DUI territory.

You must be under 21. No one wants to sit in someone's house, or invite everyone over. Plus you have to go pick up enough of everyone's specific drink, someone has to deal with cleaning, and this is all assuming everyone lives near you and it's not just a couple of drinks to unwind after a meeting or event you're all at.

I'm that anon, and sage doesn't go in every field. But if you're serious, it's not a great idea. Uber and Lyft underpay their drivers, and sending them out to the middle of nowhere is going to result in a lot of rides no one wants to take. It's also going to make it expensive to go drink out of the way, and that's assuming your prices are reasonable.

Yeah, the kids who regularly drank in high school came from broken homes in a broken society and grew up to be broken people as a result. once you hit your 30's you wont have this problem anyway. in the 1 or 2 hours you have time to meet up with your 2-3 friends once every two months you'll only have time for 2 or 3 beers before you have to leave anyway.
