How do you store your butter?

I keep a stick on the counter in a butter bell at all times.

You?

This. Butter bells are the shit. The only bad part is reloading it, because your hands get all buttery and you have to squish it down in there.

Butter bells are ineffective when it's hot, and unnecessary when it's not. I don't know what part of the world has a climate sitting in the small bracket where butter bells are actually useful, but it's not mine.

The small bracket is the range of room temperatures, not the size of the area. But is it really useful for you? Will butter turn to a puddle without one, and does it actually prevent that?

I've never had butter go bad on me, and I just keep it in a standard butter dish on my kitchen counter at all times.
I think a butter bell is a stupid meme.

The outsides of the butter would, sometimes, get discolored. Like a deep yellow color after longer periods of time.

Also, I have dogs and their hair ALWAYS ended up in the butter dish.

Since I switched it has just been even colored/flavored, and the dog hair can't get into the water.

I keep about 1/3 of a stick out on a small butter dish. The rest of the stick goes in the fridge while the remaining sticks go in the freezer.

I leave the wrapped stick of butter on the counter for about an hour then unwrap carefully at one end and use the paper to smush it into the bell.

Then a knife, if needed, to mold it perfectly flat.

I keep one stick on the counter in a covered butter dish and the rest in the fridge. When the butter in the dish runs low, I bring out a new stick so it will be soft and spreadable by the time I need to use it. Butter bells are retarded and unnecessary.

Fridge is fine,
but you can take a stick out and slap it in a butter dish, and it stays spreadable all the time,
And it will last weeks in there before going bad in my experience,
And if it does, it's just one stick

I keep most in the fridge and like half a stick on the counter at room temp, typically use it up within a few days so you never have to worry about ti going rancid. I also live in Canada so being hot isn't usually a big problem unless it's July, August.

Is your butter dish missing its cover? I don't see how a butter bell is any more effective than a butter dish at keeping pet hair out.

Melting the butter causes separation and when it hardens it won't be as uniform as before you melted it.
