No he didn't. You can't "hand back stars" because the stars are not an award, they are a rating. They will be published in their guide and there is nothing people can do about it, because the Michelin Guide is actually consumer facing and doesn't give a fuck about the restaurant owners.

>> No.13588349

>>13588321
Marco Pierre White (the youngest chef to ever win three Michelin Star) decided he had lost interest in playing the game of maintaining his Michelin awarded stars and that having achieved everything he had set out to achieve as a upyoung man he decided he didn’t care about what Michelin thought anymore. He created a already controversy in the cuisine world buy phoning Michelin and announcing that he was giving back his stars because he no longer values their opinion. He retired from his restaurant and completely abandoned cuisine nouvelle and went into retirement and went back to cooking more rustic and hearty foods. Some credit him with striking a slow death blow to cuisine nouvelle in general.

sushi and sushi elitism has always been so perplexing to me. people who treat it as some kind of mystical, ritualistic experience with an ingrained set of customs and procedures.

nigga it's raw fish on vinegar rice with a bit of soy sauce brushed on it. you don't have to be some 50 year old japanese guy that spent the first 10 years of his career washing rice for 12 hours a day to be making decent sushi

It's part of post ww2 Japanese propaganda ie; the internal "Cool Japan" marketing campaign, and every Japanese person is a shill.

https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_English#Usage_in_different_countries
>American English is only an official language in the United States. In Canada, the accent sounds extremely similar to American English but with few exceptions (see Canadian English). The American spelling in Canada is sometimes used, but traditionally, the British Spelling (with the exceptions of some words like programme, -isation/-ise/-isable, chilli, etc.) is used. Although Commonwealth English is the most spoken, American English is seen more often on the internet. American English vocabulary dominates the visual media: "movies" (British: "films") and television.
>All Commonwealth nations and Africa learn Commonwealth English, while American English is often learnt in the Americas and China. Z pronounced 'Zee' is only seen in the U.S.A and less commonly in Canada, while Z pronounced 'Zed' is spoken almost everywhere else. The United Kingdom and Ireland use British layout keyboards, while Australia, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand and the U.S.A use American layout keyboards. In continental Europe English as a second language is nowadays sometimes even taught in American English, except perhaps in Scandinavia and the Netherlands.
Now the thread should get back to op's original topic.
