One time I went to a Chinese buffet & put a mountain of chow mein & crab legs on my plate, it seriously must've weighed 5+ pounds. in my hometown there's a chinese place that sell by the box instead of weighing and the owner will yell at you if you overfill it. I'd yell back at him and he wouldn't charge extra. You're probably just not eating as much as you think, even if it's high calorie food. People who really gain a lot of weight completely stuff themselves multiple times a day and eat high calorie stuff between meals on top of drinking soda or something else that adds more calories.
