I hardly ever eat steaks or hamburgers and I seriously doubt a vegan substitute for the meats I use in my stews is just around the corner.
Besides, veganism doesn't stop at food; I'd have to stop wearing leather and shooting photographic film as well. It's nice that people have a choice of vegan foods but they really always did. The world is not about to go vegan just because some vapid white girls switch to ground up chick peas instead of cheap grocery store hamburger.
Incidentally, do you know the difference between a garbanzo bean and a chick pea?

I will never switch to plant-based meat alternatives; animal protein and fat are far and away the most bioavailable and healthy nutrition you can get.
I do think the suffering of animals is an unfortunate side effect of meat eating, but it's necessary for me to get good nutrition and stay healthy. I'll be very interested in lab-grown meat, when we can get animal proteins and fats grown in a laboratory environment and have it taste just the same as animal-grown meat. Affordable lab-grown animal meat is the ONLY "meat substitute" I will accept, none of this horrible plant-based bullshit.

What? It's horribly inferior by volume and weight. It's also inferior per calorie in terms of protein. And it has a far worse amino acid profile.

I wish vegans would just focus on making their own shit instead of turning their ingredients into facsimiles of non-vegan food that "still totally taste like the real thing guys! You won't miss meat and dairy at all guys!"
