Yea, using marijuana could essentially replace my need for alcohol, but I'm not a kid in college anymore, so obtaining it illegally just isn't an option anymore, to much to risk. The whole pesticide situation also makes me suspicious of illegally grown marijuana. I want it to be legal for regulation of that as well.

Unless you are going to get into a serious accident at work you will likely never get a drug test outside of applying for the job. Even 6 figure jobs rarely drug test, so you are at no risk. Even if you get drug tested once a year there is measures you can take to always pass.

Most states misdemeanor offense for pot is like under an ounce, so you can get a lot at a time without ever facing a serious charge. So what risk is there?

I live in Colorado. I was here when it first became recreational and it's hard to imagine going back to what I used to do when I was younger. That said, it does help some people with drinking, but if you're already drinking on a daily basis, dudeweed won't take it's place.

I shouldn't have to break the law, or try to "fool" my employer (or risk being fired) for smoking marijuana. The fact that I probably won't get caught is not the point.

I shouldn't have to break the law to smoke marijuana. It doesn't matter if the "charge wouldn't be bad".

Almost every illegal grow uses harsh pesticides. They are not "too much money", and are used to ensure the marijuana will reach maturity. $50 of pesticides is worth making sure the crop makes it to harvest. So illegally grown marijuana ABSOLUTELY has pesticides on it. Harmful, unregulated pesticides. It NEEDS to be legal so this can be regulated.

My grandpa worked as an Engineer for Nasa and for Harris and made a comfy 6 figure living close to 200k a year and he smoked pot every single day of his life and still does in retirement. Jobs don't just randomly drug test their employees all the goddamn time. It takes so much money, so much effort, and so much time that it wastes.

You only get tested if you get in an accident so they can go "oh look he had THC in his blood, so he must have been high at work we don't have to pay compensation for his accident!" and obviously when you first get the job so they can hire you. There is virtually no risk to smoking pot anywhere in the US, no matter what job you have. Only like 1% of the most serious jobs in the world drug test more than once a year, something I doubt some al/ck/y on 4chan would ever have.


Now there is risk for selling marijuana. Just like there is more risk for uploading movies online than downloading or distributing CP instead of just seeing it posted on 4chan, but there is almost no risk in buying. Just avoid keeping your bud in a plastic baggie so a cop can't charge you with intent to sell and you are basically looking at nothing. For instance, in Florida a misdemeanor is up to 20 grams. A few states have ridiculous misdemeanor charges like 30 days in jail, but if you aren't in one of those states then you are fine. Most cops aren't going to haul you off to jail for casually smoking a few grams of pot in your backyard.

Once when I was like 16, been caught with pot 3 times, 2 of the times being over 21 years old. All 3 times let go with not so much as a warning. To be fair I was never caught with all the stuff on me, but like having just smoked or having 1 blunt on me. I've been around pot since I was in highschool, all my friends do it, most people I know do it, cops I know do it, and no one gives a fuck. Unless you live in the fucking middle east no one gives a shit about pot. It's like saying you are too afraid to drink under the age of 21 because it's against the law. A cop isn't going to arrest a kid for drinking and having a bit of fun at 15 or whatever just like a cop isn't going to drop a hammer on someone for smoking a bit of pot.

You have no idea man. I live in some shithole in Florida, my middle school was right across the street from the ghetto. There was a guy who got shot one night on school property during a gang fight. Cops really don't do much here it seems, at least in terms of going after just smokers because everyone down here does it and it would be a waste of time for them. My friend got pulled over by the DEA once when he was 19 after he had just bought weed, the DEA just asked him some questions and basically had him rat out the dealer (but the dealer was some random guy anyways not a friend) and then let him go. That was after buying 150 dollars worth. He got caught in a sting by the DEA on that traphouse they were already staking out and he got away completely free, and he isn't white.
