I went to the eiffel tower in august years ago on a tourist trip to eat cheese and whatever on a picnic. We bought a bottle of champagne but it wasnt cold so we went around the park asking dozens of vendors and they were absolutely befuddled by the question as if manmade ice didnt exist. I think we got some from one of the somalian guys or whatever that walks around selling water. Europoors literally cant understand why you would want a cold drink on a 90f day. I had relatives come over from Europe and bitched and moaned about how everything here was worse than there. Everything from food, to how people drove to the music.
A few years later I went there and while many of the buildings are beautiful it really is almost borderline third world compared to where I came from. Their standard food is a bit better, but all of that is available here anyway. You dont have yo eat the cheap bread here that tastes like cake or the shitty cheese. There are other options. They also thought it was disgusting that I put ketchup on fries and they would put mayonnaise on fucking everything. All of the buildings smelled like piss on the outside, likely from all the hobos, and boiling cabbage on the inside.

>>hotel I'm staying in doesn't have AC
Extremely common 20-30 years ago. Is still common in places that are not four season travel locations, and in low end cheaper places. Older buildings, esp in historical locations like ohh Venice, where buildings can't get modified for room air conditioners and central A/C ductwork more easily.
However, today, Mid tier and higher hotels can at least have the non duct work style of air conditioners in each room. Pay attention to websites when you book your stay.
Understand that in some locations in Europe, locals understand summer is when they leave their city homes, and head to their seasonal vacation homes, the beaches, the mountains, ie, something they've done for generations. You're the idiot that is touring in the wrong time of year. For example, Italy. Shoot me if I ever had to be in Rome in June, where not a single local will be there on a Saturday or Sunday. Tourists would pay attention to such knowledge. For travel, the Cinque Terre would be where normal people would visit, with a high of maybe 73F.

A seasoned traveler would not have or ordered a tap glass of water, as they are afraid of local hard water flavors or pathogens dissimilar from their own gut flora, but a bottled water, either still or sparkling preference. It would have been cool from a fridge at least. If you ordered a lemonade or soda, and you asked for a glass of ice with it, mind you it would only have like 2 cubes in it, haha, but you'd probably get it anywhere that was a full service restaurant.

Greenhouse gasses are a red herring. The real climate change is happening from the mass amounts of heat discharged from all the electric things. A computer tower helps heat a room. An AC helps heat the earth.
Also all those buildings are helping keep air trapped and drastically increasing the surface area of heatable material on earth thus causing it to absorb more heat more effectively from the sun.
