Makes you wonder how we ever survived cooking with real fire all those hundreds of thousands of years until we managed to invent microwaves and sous vide machines

Anything burnt is carcinogenic. Oil that has smoked at all is carcinogenic. Maybe not in dangerous levels for everything, but it's there

I mean if we're talking cavemen I doubt many of them made it past their 40s and even today the amount of people living to see their 70s/80s is unprecedented.

My korean waifu thinks that the burnt areas on grilled food will immediately give you cancer.

As in why is the answer yes? Numerous reasons ranging from too much sun to genetics or plain bad luck. If you meant why I'm asking in the first place I'm just curious.

Burnt onion and garlic is literally what BBQ's main flavor is.

Indians don't know how to cook.

The little they know it is thanks to the British colonial rule.

And even then they can't cook anything that isn't spicy slop or burnt meat.

crispy, browned potatoes and roasted vegetables are also carcinogenic

>When some vegetables, like potatoes, are heated to high temps, they give off a chemical called acrylamide. Studies show that rats who took in acrylamide in their drinking water got cancer, so researchers think humans do, too.

>You can cut the amount you eat by baking, roasting, frying, and toasting foods until they're a tan color instead of golden or deep brown.

also alcohol

and processed meats like
>Bacon, salami, pepperoni, sausage -- any meat that's been preserved or flavored raises your chances of getting colon cancer. Experts reached that view by looking at more than 800 studies.

So what can we eat that isn’t carcinogenic?

>> No.13476698

The sun is carcinogenic. Something like 1/3 people on the planet will get cancer at some point in their life. Just focus on healthy foods and the rest will generally be ok. There's only so much any of us can do before genetics comes in and fucks us up the ass. My Grandmother was a slim and healthy woman her entire life until she got Alzheimer's. My grandfather ran marathons into his 70s and was wealthy enough to have someone else cook him healthy food every night. Still had a brain aneurysm and dropped dead one day out of no where. Once you start getting past your 40s it's just a roll of the dice whether something serious pops up regardless of your eating's habits. Being fat and eating like shit just raises the odds it'll happen sooner than later and that when it does you'll be knocked on your ass.

Everything has a degree of carcinogenesis. Grilled and cured meats tend to be higher/more carcinogenic when it comes to foods
