I was drunk off my ass my 1st weekend in Korea. We stopped in a tiny ramyun shop. We ordered noodles and were given chopsticks. It was sink or swim if we wanted to eat so we learned how to use them in about 5 minutes while watching all the odashis eating away. I was 19 at the time. And that was almost 30 years ago. I still use chopsticks.

Not even fucking close. The Japanese ones are as obtuse as they are and it's like fighting yourself trying to eat anything other than noodles. Every other Asian country is fine mostly but this is one area where the Japanese fuck the proverbial dog so, so hard.

Chinese ones with pointed ends are the best general use chopsticks but I also like Japanese because they're able to be more delicate when picking up certain things

I swear by the ones that are basically like mini wooden beams. No angle or anything. Just your basic, rectangular fucking sticks. People fuck around too much.

The best long ones for cooking are Japanese. They're the most developed country, they've had time to think about it, they get the nod.

Otherwise, that blunt chinese style is best for eating. That's just my opinion, but I've dealt with a lot of them. The "brown countries" as Australians call them do it best.

Anyone tried these sps chopsticks from Japan?
They are pretty cheap and I trust plastic from japs more than from chinks.
