What temperature is best for drinking water?

>> No.13335733

>>13335713
Hitler was known for only drinking lukewarm or ambient temperature water for the sake of digestion.

>> No.13335739

>>13335713
Certainly not with ice if actually wanting to digest food.

Literally just above freezing.

Its either too cold or too hot for me. Who cares anyway, the water is no good here.

>> No.13337374

Room temperature is better for digestion, but nothin beats a nice cold glass of water on a hot day!

Your body absorbs room temperature better. Cool isn’t bad during 105F summer to control body core temperature.

Best would probably be body temperature.
The stomach enzymes are probably designed to work best around 37°C. Also 0 joule lost to heat up the ol acid bag.

as cold as possible. I actually put a little anti-freeze in my water so can get it sub-zero without turning it into ice

not the same anon and no idea Hitler did that but in asia they told me that lukewarm water helps the cultivation of a healthy bacterial gut...

But to be fair it seems every country i live in ends up having its "tradition in modern medicine". In europe they told me to eat rice for health, in asia they tell me to eat unsalted crackers...

Morale of the story: drink water at outdoor temperature of the place your race came from. Scandinavians didnt drink 100degF water, africans didnt drink 20deg...

If someone says to do something "for your health", or more old fashioned, "for your constitution" with no further elaboration or reasoning, it's as likely as not to just old wives' tales.
Not to say all old-timey remedies are BS, traditions usually form for good reason (at least in the countries I care about).

Well, I mean, his Asian hocuspocus approach was wrong, but the benefit in drinking room temperature water is that your body doesn't need to expend as much energy in bringing it up to internal body temperature. Overly cold or overly hot water can stress the stomach lining, but it only really causes severe issues in people with gastroenteritis or ulcers. The water has usually reached its optimum temperature by the time it's released into the duodenum.
Pure speculation from here on out, but I'm sure that Hitler, like any politician in a position of massive control and power, suffered heavily from stress and nerves, and likely did whatever he could to avoid indigestion. Lukewarm water, light meals spread throughout the day, and an aversion to fatty meats. He was known as an opportunistic vegetarian out of principle, and while he wouldn't personally request meat, he would eat it if he was served to him.

I used to like it ice cold, but over time, I have realized that a point between room temperature and ice cold is optimal, although I don’t know the exact temperature. Probably something around 5-8 degrees celsius
