Anyone ever try actual nectar? Why should bees and hummingbirds get it all?

Nope. No one has ever tried nectar. They sell fake nectar in the store. You can't go to Amazon and read thousands of reviews on nectar. It's all fake. Glad we have this thread.

I have. You can pluck a pinch of red clover flowers off the flower head and such on the tube ends to get some nectar from them.

It's all sugar syrup designed for hummingbird feeders.
Actual nectar is as distinct as the plant that produces it, you can tell the difference between clover honey and apple blossom honey.

You can taste the liquid from a honeysuckle. I used to do that when I was younger. Is that nectar?

I prefer honeydew honey (aphid pee mixed with bee spit to make dark honey).

There was a honey suckle at the end of my driveway. Id munch on it when I was waiting for the boss. Just tastes like sugar water

The flowers of the catalpa tree are good for this too. They have a fair amount of nectar in them.

They love everything. The good news is you don't need pesticides since you can wash them off with a garden hose and ladybugs feast on them.

Tastes like a more watery less-sweet honey really.
Used to dip my fingers into flowers of Silky Oak trees on my way to school. It was the only nice thing about Spring as a season to be honest. Fuck Spring.

Yeah. Licking honey suckle flowers in the springtime is a common thing for kids to do where I live.

The ladybug book
It talks about the ladybug going to town devouring aphids.
