Best jerky? Is buffalo or exotic jerky good or is it just a meme?

It's alright. I wouldn't pay too much for it again, but I did like Elk jerky, mako shark jerky, and wild boar.

get a dehydrator off ebay, craigslist or facebook marketplace

buy some strip steak and cut it against the grain into thin strips (pun not intended).

season it well with your preferred beef seasoning mix. don't worry about fucking it up, it's going to turn out great. don't do it in the oven. don't use the oven method. get a cheap dehydrator from the internet. dehydrate it for 8-12 hours. There. You've just made a pound of beef jerky for $3 per pound when the packaged stuff costs $24 per pound. Good Job. Have Fun.

LOL shut the fuck up, dumbass. You don't know what you're talking about. Show me where you're getting fresh beef for under a dollar per pound. Your jerky costs $3 a pound? Really? You're wrong and you need to shut the fuck up and stop spreading your stupidity.

HAHAHA OH WOW
I just reread your post to confirm your stupidity, and you said to use strip steak? LMAO yeah I like to make ribeye and tenderloin jerky sometimes. Just kidding. I'm not a dumbass like you. Everyone knows jerky is best made with top round or another similarly lean, tough cut. No one on Earth uses choice cuts like ribeye or NY strip to make jerky.

What you're saying is that you can make jerky with strip steak and it'll cost $3 a pound? HAHAAHAHAHAHA Shirley you can't be serious. Nobody listen to this dumbass. He's either trolling or, more likely, a complete fucking idiot.

WinCo or Grocery Outlet. Strip steak is one of the cheapest cute of beef you can get. There's so much connective tissue in it. It's a poorman's cut. Strip steak is for poor people. Any grocery store that markets it as a premium cut is trash. Anyone who says that strip steak is a good cut is lying to you.

Like any cut of beef that requires longer cooking times, strip is supposed to be cheaper. If you're getting strip for more than $2.50/lb then you are getting the primo grass-fed organic or you're getting it from the specialty butcher who is gouging you. Sure, maybe you really care about how the beef was raised, and that's a fair point. That's a real fucking fair point. You can make a real cheap bag of beef jerky though if you get it from the cheap places. This may not be fore you. I'm just talking about what I've done.

>>13252074
Strip is not a choice cut. You have been lied to. Do not believe the marketing BS you get from the beef industry.

Without cooking you mean? I wouldn't trust that from grocery store meat , you never know how long that shit has been sitting there for. Do your thing but I'm not risking getting sick for some chewing steak if you catch my drift

It’s fine man I do it with grocery store meat all the time. As long as it hasn’t sit out at room temp and you cure it it’s good. Honestly you can eat it raw without curing or drying but that’s another thread

Also, air drying makes the best jerky hands down. Heat ruins the taste/ texture for some reason.

Just had some "waygu jerky" from some company called Mariani or something like that. Meh. It was ok, but not worth the price premium.
