Why are whites afraid of whole fish?

It's not just whites, but it's mostly because it's something their not used to. They probably always get precut fillets, if any fish at all greater than fish sticks.
It took me a while to get over the look of it, but now when I see it a know where the tasty bits are and imagine how good it smells.

I grew up in the Midwest, not a huge selection of fish to eat outside Bass, Walleye. Not many restaurants that could cook them well and my parents overcooked every fish they made.

I’d reckon it’s just foreign, same way I never see Indian restaurants in my area. Shame too

I eat whole fish twice per month, we have plenty of fish (my favourites are branzino and gilt head brim) to choose from.

It’s tasty and good but I hate having to deal with the small bones because everytime one or two slips in my mouth and I always fear of choking with them thus making the whole experience a source of stress.

The first time I had whole fish, it was whole Red Snapper in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They deep fried the whole damn thing. It was amazing.

The best part about traveling is that it puts you in the mood to try new things.
