The glyphosate levels compared to a regular burger are the same or less. It's just Big Ag anti-veggie burger media buzz.
Glyphosate is found on pretty much all foods as it's the most common pesticide.

If you aren't buying organic foods and not buying grass-fed beef from a farmer you personally know you are likely consuming far for glyphosate in a day than if you were to eat a pound of beyond meat every day.

Yeah v2.0 is amazing. The texture is 100% identical to ground beef. The taste is about 90% identical. I'm not a fan of how they smell raw, or while cooking if I'm honest. I made some chili with beyond beef a month back and it was the best vegan chili I've ever made. 100% couldn't tell it was vegan.

Once it's cheaper to manufacture than real beef (give it 5 years) all the fast food restaurants will switch to it for cost saving reasons and only edge Lord faggots will order the more expensive stuff that tastes the exact same.

It's going to be almost impossible to get rid of the smell as long as we have no good alternative to pea protein.

Soy and Lupin are common allergens, gluten has image problems. The only really good vegan protein is potato protein, but it's only a byproduct of potato starch manufacturing and can't really be scaled. Chickpea and duckweed might be a small improvement, but I think the big jump will come with fermentation based proteins ... milk producers will have problems when the whey market collapses.

I just bought some from the grocery store expecting shit and was pretty damn amazed. Goddamnit you guys said it was shit in an older thread, half the reviews on target.com said it's shit, I tried one from Carl's Jr and it tasted like smoky starch and yeast extract, my breath smelled like instant ramen packets afterwards. I was about to try to beat them with my own formula so I bought some more from the grocery store and now I'm stumped. I'm wondering if it's the coconut oil fake marbling or more smoke flavor or maybe iron, it smelled metallic raw. It seemed like a lot on the nutrition facts panel. Gotta find the old formula nutrition facts.

You’d be wrong. The new fake meats are targeted squarely at meat eaters, because vegans don’t care what food tastes like. However, rather than make the fake meat taste good, the companies making them are simply insisting that they do. Real vegans hate Beyond, because they’ve forgotten what meat tastes like and think it’s too similar.
