so I figure Gordon Ramsay is the best chef in the world, and Beef Wellington is his signature dish. So that must make it one of the best foods in the world when done right, right?

Why aren't you guys pros at making beefy well?

last time I tried it I didn't wrap the prosciutto tight enough around the steak so the juices dripped out and made the bottom part of the pastry soggy. Next time I'll fix that

>> No.13192283

it's a fillet steak in pastry. fillet steak is tasteless. pastry is redundant. it's a tasteless and redundant food.

Boeuf en croute is just a mediocre French dish, the same way Gordon Ramsay is a mediocre French-trained chef.

probably the most common thing the average joe thinks of when someone says 'pro chef meal', makes me feel bad for french/english/american cooking that a hunk of meat in pastry is seen as the creme de la creme. that being said, the average joe like >>13192261 demonstrates that most people cant cook it properly because they dont know how to make duxelles, so there is some technical difficulty in it i guess. gordon just needs to stop spamming it, across his uk/us/? programs ive probably seen him make it 3 or 4 different times, all the exact same way
