How best to transport spaghetti long(ish) distances? I need a method that is both compact and secure.

Depends, honestly. If you're going to be hours-long, I would separate the noodles and keep them in their own tupperware container and the sauce in another, so that the noodles don't puff up too much. I know it sounds weird, but wide-mouth mason jars would also work. Easy to stack into a box.

Cook them when you arrive at your destination. Doesn't take long and you can even do it in a microwave. Just have the sauce ready in Tupperware
