So /ck/, how do you feel about the un-meats that are being pushed right now?

>> No.13131318

I love them. I don't eat them too often though.

>> No.13131322

Tried some, tasted at least on par with the mystery meat used in chain burger places.

>> No.13131324

They're fine. I still like the taste of meat better though.

>>13131315
I jump on the counter and autstically screech at the people working at places that sell it.
And then scream shitposts in 4channel format at them.

>> No.13131329

Tried an impossible whopper a few days ago and didn't have a single problem with it. They weren't terrible, but they didn't really blow my skirt up either.

>> No.13131338

im pretty interested to try it when i go to burgerland. i want to try it for myself, so far i only have the "opinions" of pussy vegan trannies and child-paletted carnists

yeah it tastes exactly like a whopper. It's fucking awful

>> No.13131366

>>13131315
Not for me. I primarily eat meat to ensure my diet has the broadest micronutrient potential I can achieve. I don't like the taste of it much.

I think they have finally reached a point when they are satisfactory

I never in my life thought it was possible for an opinion to be wrong

>> No.13131411

>>13131338
If another worthless internet opinion is something you'd like, I fall more on the carnist side of things, but was open to them.

It definitely doesn't taste like quality beef. I've used the pound of ground kind of stuff for a handful of dishes at home (most recently a chili) and it doesn't lend much of a beef flavor to anything. With that said, it does still taste good, just tastes different. Think of it like getting taco bell's beef, and that's about the profile you'll get.

>> No.13131430

Too expensive. Otherwise I don't care.

>> No.13131436

Seems to me like an easy way to pry money out of hipster wallets. I don't really care for it either way.

>> No.13131511

they're cool. not a big deal, really. most of the meathead/baconbros that seethe over them are coping/compensating.

>> No.13131568

>>13131430
They really aren't though, I was looking at it and pound for pound they're comparable to ground beef (maybe about 15% higher).
>>13131511
I'm a bit of a meathead and I will say that most of them fall in the same tier as fast food beef. Definitely not a replacement for a home made burger using 80/20 beef, but it's edible.

>> No.13131578

>>13131315
Meh, I'll stick with my beef and bison burgers. When cloning technology advances, I'll be fine with cloned meat, though I doubt it will be as good as wagyu.

I would eat them if they were a healthy alternative, but they're just loaded with salt.

I don't care until they can say it's cheaper than real meat.

I won't care about lab-grown meat until they can say it's cheaper than real meat

I won't care about lab-grown meat made from the proteins found in treated sewage until they can... okay, I'd still give that a hard pass...

I'm curious about what they taste like but not curious enough to go out of my way and spend money on it. I've heard they taste like some sort of neutral slurry to tasting a bit bitter like nuts in a way.

It tastes pretty close to real meat and the texture is about 85-90% correct. If someone didn't tell you beforehand you'd probably think that it was real meat.

It's cool that I can go out to fast food places with my vegan friends and we can all get something. I'll eat one once in a while to give myself that "I'm helping the environment and my body" but still eat meat like the 4 other days of the week

I'm not eating that bullshit.

If they really wanted to compete with meat, they'd price it at parity.
Globalist politics aside, I think it's a scam to not have to advertise your burgers as 100% beef on the menu anymore. They can being in the taco bell fillers and such now that they have some beyond soiburger to let them off the hook.

>> No.13135457

What I think is that Big Ag just keeps on winning. Not content with giving 70% of us type 2 diabetes, they are coming for the rest of us by targeting literally the only relatively healthy food items we buy . . . Meats and cheeses.

Then they pass us off to their Big Pharma friends for never-ending "maintenance" and "treatment." And the cheap carb soy/corn/wheat caravan rolls on, claiming all of us as victims.

Most veggies and vegans can usually still be as healthy as meat-eaters since their diets done right still hold all the nutrients they need.

But most of the time the meat "alternatives" are always either unhealthy, only carbs or pretty processed.

>> No.13135708

Any of them I've had have been quite nice. The beyond meat sausages were v good.

I have no problem with them; I sometimes use quorn mince when doing a bolognese and you can't tell the difference. Better for the environment and its genuinely no sacrifice on my part so why not
