The thing I don't understand about this is: Sure, you're eating pagpag because you're desperately poor. But fuck that, I'd much rather eat plain rice, or Irish labourer potato diet, or whatever is the cheapest staple grain, than literal garbage. If I could get some soy sauce or salt then I'd be in luxury compared to literal garbage. Even of those doing it out of absolute stinking poverty, surely they're more likely to be sickly and consequently die really fucking quick after eating their first garbage meal, thus destroying the repeat-buyer market.

There must be some economic or cultural factor I'm missing here. Anon care to explain?
