Spend some of that money on therapy, man. Take care of yourself. And don't just go to one therapist and give up when they're shit (because let's face it, they probably will be). Shop around for a therapist you like and that you click with. You deserve it. There's no shame in asking for help.

I finally snapped and went to therapy at the beginning of the year because I realized I genuinely didn't care anymore. I won't get into the details of what I was going through, but I didn't even care enough to plan a suicide. Things were just so grey and nothing really had a point for me. Group therapy helped me a lot. You might not be a group guy, but there are so many different types. Try it out, man.

my dad died recently too

it was around january this year, i was a senior in highschool and my dad and i would often share his car. most days i use to car to drive to school and he rides his bike to work. on days it rained i would drive him to work, go to school, and pick him up after. this day it didnt rain

i woke up in the morning, and my dad had already left the house. this was normal. i got in the car and drove to school. there was a lot of traffic at an intersection nearby my house. seemed like something happened. just drove by it and kept going to school.

after an hour of a physics lab on capacitors i got a text from my sister. apparently my mom told me something happened to dad. i just assumed he broke a leg or something. then a counselor pulled me out of lab. at this point i knew he was dead.

i was brought home and there were a lot of police cars around. apparently the route i normally go to school was blocked off. got home and i got what i knew was coming, a dude telling me my dad was dead. didnt cry and still havent. i have to be the rock.

he was apparently the reason the intersection was cut off. some dude ran a red light and killed him.

my tale isnt as grim as yours as i still have my whole life ahead of me. but being in college across america, away from any friends and family, and losing the only person i feel like i can connect to, i can understand the loneliness. hopefully things get better for us.
