How long would you want it to last? A month? Though, you can easily push for six to maximum of a seven days if you have an oven - simply sprinkle it with a few drops of water and throw it into the oven until it gets crispy again. A breadbox like the other anon said should do, too. If these are unfeasable for you and you can't go to the bakery more than twice a week, I'd frankly pass on the bread entirely; it's comfort food anyway.

Why would this stop bread from going moldy? Seems like the only thing it's good for is to stop bread from dying out, but you could use any container for that. No fresh bread without preservatives is going to last for weeks.

You can refrigerate it to stop it from going moldy so quickly, but then it gets a stale texture. You're better off freezing it if you can deal with that.

In my personal experience, homemade bread can last significantly longer than storebought stuff.
Though then again, if it was made in-store, then it shouldn't have spent too long in transit or storage.

I use somewhat more salt and oil than recipes recommend.

I've also heard people argue for egg or milk actually being protective (which I also use), but I'm kind of skeptical of that.

Don't know if you have it where you're from, but some good quality corn bread will keep for a long ass time without any mold. Try also changing the place where you store the bread, there probably too much heat / moisture in the one you're storing it right now.

Don't buy presliced bread without preservatives, it goes moldy faster because it has more surface area.
If you do buy bread, how fast it goes moldy depends on the climate. More humidity means more mold. A plastic bag keeps moisture in better than a paper one, but also results in growing more mold.
In a dry climate bread easily lasts for over a week before going moldy.

It depends on your climate. Mold spores have to be in the air. If you're in a relatively sterile, dry room you won't necessarily get much mold growth. I sometimes get some, but only long after the bread has staled.

Mold is a microorganism. The better the conditions, the faster it'll grow. Two easy variables to alter are temperature and humidity.
