Right now I am living in Japan and the equivalent here is canned mackerel or "saba" as it is known. If this was a thing in the west I think it would be equally popular it is pretty fucking good. Buy a can, empty it onto some fresh white rice and you have a solid cheap meal.

I like to add a tin to a bag of salad mix, along with some cherry tomatoes, as an easy meal.

Much like with ramen, the secret to those bags is to have some easy filler to both enrich the flavor and nutritional value. /deenz/ are pretty decent for that purpose.

tescos finest sardines are the BEST GOD DAMN sardines Iv ever had. Iv tried 17 brands.

the pros
the sardines are much smaller than sardines you see in other brands (i assume they only use young ones (which is one of the reasons i think it tastes better)

the fact its marinated in lime(the most important thing) and chili contribute so much to the flavor. Brands of sardines that are already marinated with lemon or lime always taste twice as good to me at least

cons

cant find any
anyway

I can eat these sardines just as, or on some rye crackers. or even better on some rye crackers with some mature cheedar cheese.

These are the best sardines in my honest opinion, maybe objectively.

Lately, I've been doing big breakfasts. My breakfast every day for the last 2 weeks has been

3 eggs fried in butter, w. S&P
3 slices bacon
One thick slice toast on homemade bread, salted, buttered - one avocado and one half tin of deenz mashed up and spread on top with S&P.
Glass of OJ
Plenty of coffee
Glass of V8
Glass of water

This generally fills me up until dinner. I've lost 10 pounds by having this for breakfast and not needing any kind of snacks or lunch during the day. And I know it sounds like a lot, but this takes about 10 minutes to prepare. I par-cook the bacon at the beginning of the week, then throw it in the skillet with the eggs. Based on people I know who are still paranoid about it, basically they don't want shots if it doesn't immediately and obviously "work," for it leads them to wonder about what effect it actually has on their body, and why everyone is advised to receive multiple injections for diseases they've never even experienced.
So arguing over particulars is usually not effective with them, as the particulars are only talking points for more profound feelings of suspicion.

For better or worse, they usually change their mind once they personally see severe consequences of someone who was known to not be vaccinated.

But I digress, as it is off-topic.
