I dont agree with nigger OP though. Ive had the beyond meat shit. I remember what meat tasted like. Theyve got a ways to go the Beyond Burgers are good, but not a full on substitute. Rather than acting like they have the replacement they should be advertising they are getting their and putting all their money in more research. The texture is off, the taste is close, but definitely not the same thing all day...and I am someone who would just never eat meat again cause its been to long but yeah.

My nuts are bigger than the guy I replied too. Im a vegan, and Beyond Meat is edible but definitely doesnt taste exactly like meat.

I never really understood the obsession with meat substitutes. If you're going to make a new product why not make something with its own unique flavor that tastes good instead of trying over and over and failing to capture the taste of something you don't even want to eat anymore? I'm not a vegan but I actually like some of the stuff like Field Roast sausages and some brands of veggie burgers but because it tastes good on its own, not because it's anything at all like real meat.

Same, but they probably get more sales pushing it as a meat replacement instead of not. Impossible burgers don't really taste any different from Boca burgers that were already available, Impossible just has better marketing. Hopefully this stuff will get more people interested in lab-grown meat though.

Most people stop eating meat because they don't like the slaughter though, not because they don't like the taste, so finding a perfect replacement still makes sense even for vegans. Most vegans are saying they'll eat lab-grown meat when it's available because the moral problem wouldn't be there.

Removing meat from one's diet being what is desired, it can be reasonably thought that a sufficient means of doing so would be to gradually phase out meat with substitutes that somehow remind the individual who so desires of past meals.
