Do you ever feel bad or mean for hating food someone close to you loves? My mom is so enthusiastic about and loves anything to do with tomatoes that I just can't bring myself to express how much I hate most tomato based foods and sauces

My wife is from the Philippines. I love her and enjoy most of her cooking but she loves bitter melon, which is popular with her people. The name doesn't do it justice. It tastes like bile mixed with battery acid. I don't feel bad for not liking it and she doesn't hold it against me. It's often a playful conversation topic when she's poking fun at me to her friends/relatives.
