So /ck/ I'm fucking congested, and I'm about to lose my fucking mind. I've taken decongestants, I've taken a hot shower, I've been drinking hot fluids, yet my right nostrils is fucking clogged still.
I'm at my limit, what foods do I eat to make my nose run, or clear my sinuses in general? Non of this "Have a gentle steam with essences of citrus and thyme" I want to evicerate my fucking nostrils. I want my nose fucking clear and I don't give a fuck how I get there. We're looking for peak efficiency here, hot sauce is the obvious answer but it's not enough.

I've got some garlic, I've got some cayenne, I can go to the store if I need to, I'd rather cook something instead of just shoving hot peppers into my mouth like a fucking animal, but that option is on the table.

Get one of these things, I don't know how they're called in English. Use it to run hot salt water through your nose from one nostril to the other. For me that gives instant relief even when my nose is severely clogged.

Unreleted but I used to have very bad sinus infection and one night I was drunk, found a scooter in the street, rode it for two seconds and fell right on my nose, which broke, and now my sinuses have never been so clean and free, maybe try breaking your nose

Simply Saline is the neti pot saline rinse that is kind of like a jet wash, in a pressurized can. It's nice because sterile between uses, so good for intermittant usage. If this is constant though, you should buy a jug of distilled water and the squeeze bottle and saline packet company called Sinu-Rinse, it's better, because you can warm it, and really use a ton more. You can also double the packets of saline and it becomes hypertonic and really dries out the sinus congestion, esp at bedtime before sleeping, so moisture doesn't drip on your Eustachian tubes or into your chest, to get a secondary infection.

Flonase is a good inflammation reducing nose spray to use daily.
Afrin will clear a nose like nobody's business, and good to use before a flight, but not good for more than 3 days or so.

Foodwise, be very very hydrated. More hydrated you are, the more thin your body makes the mucous and easier to blow out when you blow your nose, but also forces out infection or a virus.
Expectorants like guafinisin can also kick up thin mucous production too, not just in the chest.
Drink a lot of water when downing your sudafed, it needs it to work. Don't buy the fake over the counter inferior versions of decongestant, but the sign-for-it original versions at the pharmacy desk.
Pho soup, big bowls of noodle soup, anything you'll be leaning over in a big way, will simulate the steam in the nose action you want to get up in there. Onions, chicken bone broth are highly ranked sick and mucous fighters. But, also high in vitamin and some nose running action is the fresh hot chilies, so pho again, is nice with plenty of sliced chilies floating on the top. Nom nom them up and feel the burn. Add lime and up your citrus while at it.
Hot mustard dip for an egg roll, wasabi on a sushi roll, any horseradish you can tolerate is gonna give you good vapors and make the nose run a bit.

If it's just one side, might be that's the side you sleep on, and there could be infection.

Cayenne pepper tea? Or just snort it raw.

Coming helps for about 5 seconds before your nose closes back up again. Longer term, take cetirizine.

Hot bowl of ramen WITH THE SOUP and add a pinch of cayenne, ginger, to the broth. Drizzle EXTRA hot sauce over. Fuckton of green onions especially the white part minced up, the acidity will help the other ingredients along. Make sure you drink the broth.

Grapefruit? I mixed cayenne about 50/50 with some hot paprika and added a fair amount of it to some goulasch I had. That's helping, but it's not enough.

Definitely going to consider some sort of saline solution, I'll pick one up later, along with better decongestants. I've been drinking a fuck ton of water, I can make some noodles later.

>If it's just one side, might be that's the side you sleep on, and there could be infection.
If I keep my head tilted for long enough the other nostril becomes clogged. Feel fine, it's just clogged for now.

Probably gonna make Shakshouka with a bunch of garlic and chillis too

Go get Zicam nasal spray.
I get chronic sinus infections, it’s the only way I get sick and it fucking blows
The only thing that ever helps is nasal spray
Decongestants work until your body works up an immunity to them, hot showers help until you leave the steamy bathroom. Hell even the “just eat garlic” meme never helps
Spray some shit up your nose, drink tons of water and tough it out

Yeah, Neti Pots are great.
Tilt your head back just a little bit, but not too much. If you feel it running down your throat, lean forward a little more.
It literally flushes our sinuses. The way runs through your nasal cavities and flushes our everything in there.
It feels kinda uncomfortable at first, but after you do two or three times you start to enjoy it.

REMEMBER: DON'T USE TAP WATER. Only use distilled water.

Raddish, paprika, horseraddish. As usual food - no alchemy potion brewing needed. There are paprika-flavoured waffers, or horseraddish spread for bread/salads, or just raw grated with sandwich/salad. Try to eat some raw raddish - wash it, core the tips.

Oral ones? Those almost never work, phenylephrine isn't clinically proven to do anything. Get some Afrin, the kind in the bottle you squirt up your nose. I've had the same issue for a long time and it's the only stuff that works for me.
Don't get the generic kind, desu. I got the store brand stuff once, and while it technically worked, I was in unspeakable burning pain in my nostrils for 12 hours.

I usually just eat a tiny spoon of prepared extra extra spicy horseradish and that clears it right up. Even better if you love horseradish as you've said.

As far as cooking - liquid heat (temperature heat) will help loosen the mucus, so you could try soup. Try extra spicy soup for a double-whammy. Alternative, grind fresh black pepper directly into your nose and sneeze everything out.

>decongestants
these make congestion worse over time. They constrict the tiny blood vessels in your sinuses to reduce mucus generation, but the body reacts by growing MORE blood vessels. Never use decongestants.

Inhaling hot steam is probably your best bet.
