what does it mean when Americans talk about drinking good whisky in "shots"?

is it pouring some whisky into a glass an sipping it over a period of time? or is it pouring a glass of whisky and drinking it all at once in one mouthful?

Whisky is inheritenly more expensive than it needs to be, but I mean Jap-shit is even more expensive and you'll see their defenders everywhere. Meanwhile when you get a "high quality" rum the shit is nearly 100% truthful. If the Rum is "8-year" the youngest rum in its 8 years minimum. Meanwhile you could get a 20 year whiskey and it just happens to have 3% of it being 20 years old and the rest is added to match a "taste profile"

I've never seen "urban" black men or women buy dry red wine or even good red wine for that matter outside of older guys. Almost always the only wine the women buy is sweet table wine like rose moscato and pink zinfandel (also what most young women of any race buy because they have shit taste) and the men rarely buy some cheap dry red or drier table white wine to get drunk off of more cheaply then hard liquor in certain states.
>anything to make wine drinking socially acceptable in 'murica
Do you go outside? Drinking wine has been socially acceptable since prohibition ended.

>> No.12793520

That's actually a lie, rum is less regulated then Japanese whisky is. Google the scandal with Flor de Cana rum in Nicaragua, they claim to have 12 year old and 25 year old rums but yet they add 1 drop of older stock into the vatting and that's all that's needed to call some cheap swill a 25 year old rum.
However I agree that Japanese regulations are a problem when you can bottle 100% whiskies from other countries and call it Japanese whisky because it was bottled in Japan. Suntory and Nikka have been getting away with shady shit for a while and they need a boot to come down on them.

Pappy van Winkle is an extremely low production, scarce whiskey. You have be randomly selected to buy a bottle. A shot might be the only way most people will ever try it.

For the second one the guy asking the question literally States the reason he's buying the shot to try the alcohol for a low price before buying a whole bottle to minimize risk.

Also, shots don't HAVE to be drank all in one gulp. Bar "shots" are sometimes doubles anyway.
