Ironically, they were actually knockoffs of another cookie creme sandwich that came before Oreo, which were called Hydrox. It's actually pretty hilarious that a copycat brand became much more successful than the original, and probably for good reason because I don't think anyone in their right minds would want to eat something that sounds more like a floor cleaner than a cookie.

im pretty sure that's exactly what cookies and cream ice cream is, aside from the actual oreo ice cream stuff.

also, oreos and crushed oreoes/oreo dusr is basically the midas touch of dessert toppings. cant say that about chips ahoy.

that's not to say i dont like chips ahoy, i love the soft-cookie variation. hard cookies are nothing special really, especially when store-baked stuff can be fresher, cheaper and generally better.
