I'm in a similar situation. I already have everything I need in my kitchen and it's all decent quality, so I don't really want to ask for more shit that I have no room for. Should I ask for upgraded replacement stuff like all-clad pans and a dutch oven and nicer mixers and food processors and stuff? All that shit is expensive and I don't really need it, so I would think nobody will want to buy any of it and I don't blame them.

A guy on ebay who routinely takes apart tools, took apart a Kitchenaid pro stand mixer.
It actually seemed very well constructed for the most part.
Accessories are readily available, both Kitchenaid and aftermarket.
Parts are generally readily available if you want to repair the mixers yourself.
Stainless glass and ceramic bowls are available, as are smaller bowls.
Unlike the smaller hand appliances, the stand mixers are made to be repairable.

Also, unlike some of the Kitchenaid competitors, the gears in all kitchenaid mixers are steel, with the exception of one plastic gear designed to break in case the mixer gets jammed.

I have some 3-ply Chinese knockoff all-clad pots and pans, and they seem pretty nice to me. Is it worth it to upgrade to real all-clad? Maybe just for a frying pan or saute pan, since the quality of those seems more important than for a sauce pan?

How does Staub compare with Le Creuset? It's also French and a bit cheaper, it seems odd to me that the enamel is black but I don't think it would bother me too much.

Everything else I already have and it's all decent enough quality.

>How does Staub compare with Le Creuset? It's also French and a bit cheaper, it seems odd to me that the enamel is black but I don't think it would bother me too much.
Staub is owned by Zwilling IIRC and is Le Creuset's main competitor. My ex owns one of each and both are fine. Mine is an unenameled Lodge, and if I get another, it'll be All-Clad. Enamel is for teeth and church relics.
