Most german Döners are are shit compared to the Top20 %. Its like having the same meal but cant enjoy it because the variation in sauces (from sweetBBQ-basedYoghurt) and very low quality fat dripping meat to good meat is huge.
So traveling in stranger citys and buying Döner is mostly a bad idea.
We have a (real)turk selling Döner in the mountain and its like twice as good as the 10miles away Döner in the City
