Nice video, OP. Kind of scary. Those rats would probably jump at you. Frankly surprised there were that many of that size, unless they leave doors open all day. Gotta stay on top of sealing doorways well, as they can flatten right out like a pancake to walk under garage doors and most anything else.

If you're an adult, or have ever been a homeowner in any kind of city, the country, somewhere with a high water table, or places with infrequent garbage collection, fields that are infrequently mowed down, sewers without drain covers...anything really, you'd realize constant traps, constant bait and even the best efforts are something not enough, and you have to trap them inside, eww, I know.

What is frightening is the nasty homeless camps and rats, people with drugs, disease, needles laying around...those are mutant infected rats in places like San Francisco waiting to start the next plague.

You're not gonna like it but almost any store where food is sold is like this at night. At my store eight years ago, there was a chip aisle and we all knew rats lived in the back of the chip stands, nobody cared and nobody did anything about it because they stayed hidden during the day. Then, a customer knocked over one of the racks and showed all the nests and the whole store went into triage mode.

Seriously, though, this shit happens sometimes. Drainwater will open a hole in a back wall somewhere and then these things just pour in. It doesn't mean anything about the sanitary state of the store or long-term conditions. They could have very well came in through the AC system 20 minutes before this was taken. It happens. I feel sorry for the shop owners and the stigma that's attached to it now. Not fair at all. The video shows the store is obviously clean and well-managed and not a rat-magnet.
