You're the guest, and within hours you can get whatever you can ask for nicely, but you're just one wallet in a sea of thousands. If your demeanor is enough to cost me even one employee, then you've overstayed your welcome by a lot. I can completely embarrass and ban a dozen shitty people from my establishment and not even notice a difference in the daily cash balance.

Your money means jack shit. Good restaurants are tight-knit families of people and they don't care about you more than they care about each other. You can come and order at 9:55, but don't you dare be a prick about it and think we're not spitting in your food. We are.

Some people might be stuck in the position of slaves, but that's a dangerous position to have people in that haven't been conditioned to accept it properly. Slaves know where you sleep, where you keep your family. In this case, the slaves know what you're eating and are preparing your food.

Piss those people off badly enough or for long enough and you'll learn why kings and emperors needed food tasters through most of history. People have a full library of fun chemicals in the maintenance room of your average Denny's.

Are you so low of class that a person holding up your night by a half hour at the most would result in you either spitting in their food or putting toxic chemicals in it? You should really reevaluate your life and values. Besides, if you end up losing your restaurant job, what would you do then?
