Par boil, freeze, cook once, let drip and dry, freeze, drain, drip, fry again, then you have...little to no nutritional value! Much like bread and pasta. Up next--PANCAKES! A way not to get fat!

It has so little flavor of it's own you literally have to salt it and use it as a way of getting ketchup to your mouth like little pickup sticks.

beans are better than potatoes.

I can't read those stickers...
But, where I shop, I've seen the individually wrapped potatoes like that, or else 4 medium sized potatoes, already cleaned, in a microwaveable square bag (I guess they're pricked already).
It does sound stupid to me, like ultimate in laziness, but if people weren't buying them, they'd go bad and the store wouldn't bother with that brand.
Never ever discount the sheer number of people who aren't necessarily as lazy as you, but calculate their time differently. People who are busy and more important than you and less budget constrained. A person who is staying in a business hotel grabbing a lunch salad for right now, but also a microwaveable soup or something like that potato, or that weird yogurt with the crumbles right in the lid. All they have to do to enjoy that potato in a hotel or work microwave is take it with them and only have to buy 1 thing, not a metal fork.

Oh, and for example of this traveler that wants one potato, Kevin Bacon was stopped by overzealous TSA for having a single uncooked sweet potato in his luggage, packed, to nuke to enjoy for a snack. It's a comical story, but it's real life. Also, apparently xrays can't work on them (according to TSA worrywarts).
