My fat friend used to constantly snack on cans of these, imitation crab straight out of the package, and those cough medicine lolipops shaped like teddy bears

They're more mild than hot dogs because chicken meat, and the texture is softer. Maybe that's what you mean by watered down, but it's not because there's more water in them or because of how they're packaged.

Okay, let me get this straight.
Thread summary, I have never tried these. But the jist of it so far, is that the only reason these exist is because they are shelf stable, non-perishable because canned, for people without refrigeration. Possibly a different texture than normal hot dogs, but otherwise the same thing (aside from the small size).
Do I have it correct? Anything I missed?

>> No.12653469

>>12653460
$9 gets you a case of like 24 cans of them. They are edible and are legally recognized as "food" but hot dogs are a haute delicacy in comparison to them.

>> No.12653476

>>12653460
They're worse than hot dogs in my opinion. They have a weird, mushy texture and very little flavor. You're correct that the only appeal seems to be that they are shelf stable. If you want vienna sausage you should just get some actual vienna sausage, as in, not from a can.

>> No.12653487

About four years ago I was camping off my bicycle in southern Illinois, out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a set of train tracks and the road I was riding in sight. I had gotten a can of these vienna sausages earlier in the day and wound up roasting them over a fire until they grew crackly and dipped them in ketchup from a packet pilfered from a fast food place earlier.
It was pretty good, I recommend it. Much like Spam, I hate the taste by itself but fry it up crispy and suddenly it's delicious to me.
