So long old friend. Now you're fucking blended. :/

>> No.12613341

Fucking BUMP

Used to love that shit. Still tastes good as a blend, and I think they still sell unblended in large containers for professional use or whatever. But if I'm paying the same price as before for a normal size bottle I'd like to be paying for a single origin.

There's some LA brand they sell at Kroger that's similarly priced and only from Chile that is my new go to.

There was just something nice about buying a 100% California product that isn't wine, so I hope they bring it back.

Just looked it up, super cheap, called O-live & co. See if you can find it

Well fuck me, that's a shame. Luckily, I live in CA, so I can find other CA brands that are single origin. You should always buy olive oil from as close to you as possible, not only for freshness, but for quality. In the US, that means olive oil from CA or TX, mainly. I can't remember the name of the brand I'm using right now, I'll have to go check.

Bought a bottle of this brand earlier in the year, and like a dingus I didnt check the back to be sure it was actually 100% californian olive oil. Shit was a dissapointment when i got home and realized it was a blend. Seems a bit shitty to call it "California Olive Ranch" and then sell non-Californian product, but hey who am I?

Costco seems to be pushing Terra Delyssa Tunisian Olive Oil pretty hard. Is it good for the price?

I don't know about Tunisia but Algerian olive oil is absolutely disgusting and very low quality.

You mean it tastes bitter and makes your throat burn a little?

Fun fact: fhat's what actual olive oil tastes like.

Fucking amerifats grow up thinking canola oil is real olive oil and then get triggered when they taste the real thing.

Before you go thinking "it's good because it's expensive", major olive oil producing areas benefit from economies of scale and competition among upstream and downstream service providers (agro services, harvesting resources, bottling, distribution, etc). Additionally those areas often subsidize their olive oil industries for political reasons further reducing the market price

When you buy a product like this from some fringe region you're paying a shit ton extra for the novelty

What the FUCK!

Up until a couple of months ago Trader Joe's used to sell this stuff. Every bit as good as the California Olive Ranch Aberquina, and only $6 for a 500ml bottle. Of course, it was too good to last and they've now "discontinued" it.
