Bought a can of chicken luncheon meat and this is what is attached to it. Any idea how I can open this can with this?

Oh wow I haven't seen one of those for decades. I thought they'd been banned because they leave a razor sharp ribbon of steel covered in tetanus and salmonella. They never even used to work, everybody just used to take off both ends of the can with a regular opener then push the "meat"out. Did you check the expiry date, OP? Might be that it expired in the 90s
