So I'm going to a pizza restaurant for the first time in my life.
What is the correct 'za ettiquette? Do I use a knife and fork? Or eat each slice with my hands. Do I dap the oil off with my napkin etc. Don't want to make a fool of myself here. I'm especially worried if the pizza arrives not pre-sliced. I think it will be unsliced because this seems like an authentic italian 'za place. I only ever experienced Dominoes.

Okay...
Ask them to slice it
Eat it with your hands

Thats it

If its not cut, just cut it in eights. Fold it like this and eat it with your hands. If its very thin and you cant eat it like that, take your fork and fold the tip back between the two sides.

Well the slicey disc cutter they give you is for your wrists, you pretentious get.
Just eat it. You think italians give a shit, just so long as you're eatin' good?

If you're going with other people just check what they do, note that you might end up mixing & matching with each other.
If you're on your own do whatever the fuck you want within, knife & fork or just go hands on.

Have you never watched a form of media where they ate pizza? A movie, TV show or something?

>Do I use a knife and fork?
Only if you're in Brazil or something.

>Or eat each slice with my hands.
In most places, yes.

>Do I dap the oil off with my napkin etc.
If you feel the need to. Usually you won't need to do this at a restaurant because their pizza won't be overly greasy.

use the knife and fork and cut small pieces of it for eating them with the fork.

You can also use your hands but for pieces near the crust where you don't get your fingers dirty

This seems like stupid bait, but I agree that you should just watch how other eat it and mimic them. I grew up an hour outside of NYC, visited many times, and ate a lot of pizza at a lot of different places. I find that I naturally fold pizza, not completely but at least bend it somewhat most of the time. Sometimes shitty pizza places serve you pizza that the cheese will slide off of when you pull it from the pie, so you might as well go about that with for and knife. Shitty places also sometimes serve pizza with way too much grease, and for this, I would recommend just picking the slice up and tilting it to drain it. It's not impossible, but I cannot recall being served unsliced pizza. If they were to serve an sliced one, it would only be a small personal one, and they would have to provide you with a knife or tool that can effectively cut it in slices. Again, watch what other people do.

Truly good pizza has olive oil directly added to it. This kills the pizza.

take the whole pizza and start rolling like a burrito

I've heard there's this place where they actually feed you the pizza, for a marginal fee.
They even wipe your mouth, all you need to do is chew and sink.
Takes me back... wayyy back.

>>12546618
This is correct, don't be ashamed or something if it's too liquid to be eaten without cutlery, we do when it's not easy to be eaten with hands. Easy. It's usually not cutted, cut in eight slices yourself when it arrives. I usually cut in half, quarters and then halfs of quarters while waiting for it to be less hot. And I would suggest to not go too fancy with toppings, Margherita, bufala, marinara are the basics to be tried first

>I'm going to a pizza restaurant
You're going to stand out like a sore thumb if you call it a "pizza restaurant". If you're over the age of 30, you call it a "pizzeria". If you're under the age of 30, you call it "the 'za store".
