Here's the first thing you should know,. Anyone who says this >>12535779, has never eaten a decent lasagna in their life.
Lasagna can be amazing, or it can be mediocre, depending on who makes it, and how they make it. In my experience, all the best lasagnas I've ever eaten have been the ones where people put time and effort into them. Like slow cooked sauces, fresh pasta sheets, etc. And great lasagnas always use bechamel, not a heavy mat of cheese, at the very least on top.

Two pounds of American plastic cheese, synthetic tomato sauce, and limp noodles. NOICE!

Nobody uses American plastic cheese for lasagna here. We have sawdust parmesan for that.

I think there's the illusion of too much cheese given by the fact that the pasta is cooked, unlike whatever the hell happened in your image. Pasta should be al denta, not be able to be picked up and maintain it's shape.

It's only supposed to have bechamel and parmesan, no fucking ricotta or cottage cheese or whatever. Lasagna isn't meant to be so dense and heavy.
