sierra nevada pale ale is one of my favourites i must admit, it's just right in terms of hops, i can drink it all day.
before american IPA caught on here, pubs had a better variety of beers and ales, now most pubs just have lagers and over-hopped IPA, it's so boring.

I moved to Northern California a couple years ago and just kind of stumbled upon it in a Total Wines and more (American warehouse beer/wine/liquor store). It's an OG San Diego brewery (Southern California, but the hub of the "West Coast Style") but I'd literally never seen it or heard of it before moving out, and I feel like the people who work in the store buy half the stock - so you're probably not going to see it any time soon, and if you do it will probably have been sitting in a box for a year, which makes it worthless (unless you have a beer exchange buddy, but AleSmith IPA isn't something to airmail across the Atlantic; it's most like the IPA version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (which is almost universally considered the best entry level "craft" beer in the States)).
