A defiant middle finger goes out to anyone who thinks you can get better Mexican food anywhere in America than Tucson. Guero Canelo, El Minuto, El Charro...for fuck's sake, Los Betos serves up better Mexican than 90% of the places I've been in other cities, and it's a fucking minor chain.

Tuscon does have some damn fine Mexican food. I travel through there several times a year going back and forth between NorCal and Texas to see family, and I love stopping in Tuscon to eat. I'll always have a very soft spot for the TexMex I grew up on, and I like all the Mexican seafood places here in NorCal, but Tuscon has really good stuff. I can't remember the names of all the places I've eaten there, but I know they were all good. Most of them were in the neighborhoods around I-10, since that's my route, though.
