What are your thoughts on salty liquorice? As an Finn the amount of aversion people have to it always surprises me

Licorice is already a very decisive flavor in the west on top of that salty and sweet has only gained traction a decade or so ago but it's paired with like salted caramel and the contrast is that caramel is sooo sweet or chcolare. Does salty licorice also eaten for that contrast of flavors?

One or two sakris are yummy, but it's not salt, however, it's ammonia, and after more than one or two, it becomes apparent that it's the aroma of floor cleaner.

Licorice that is strong and soft but not salty is better, and the best is chocolate covered black licorice.

>> No.12421010

the salt on salted licorice is ammonium chloride.
the best way to approximate the taste is to drink a shot of ouzo or anisette and then inhale ammonia fumes.

It's ten minutes of work. The rest of the time it's raising or baking while you're shitpositng on 4chan, which you for some reason do have time for despite your ever so busy worklife.
If your job is that shitty it's actually another reason for you to bake your own bread; homebaked bread is a treat and you should treat yourself after all that miserable wagefagging.

>> No.12422328

Licorice is like one of those things people ate before they invented like, actual food.

Some peasants found a root that didn't instantly poison you and decided to start gnawing on it.

But people love Root Beer, which is like the liquid version of it so fuck me I guess.

How does the fact that you don't have that shitty job any more refute any part of what I said?
I used to work shit jobs for 10-14 hours a day too, and I baked my own bread both because it was cheap and because it was delicious, and I fucking deserved some nice bread after all that miserable work. That's my point.
You don't need to be a millionaire stay-at-home mom to bake some dinner rolls, man.
Spend a few minutes mixing the dough in the morning while you drink your coffee and listen to the news on the radio.
Turn on the oven when you get home and take a shower while it heats up.
Bake the bread (10-20 minutes depending one what you're making). And have it with butter and cheese by itself or on the side with your dinner.
If you can find time to post here you can find time to make some nice bread.

Finnish food industry is ten years ahead of every other country, fuck the pricing tho. All the rye breads, great berries, cricket proteins, oat "tofu" bricks, all the licorice. Natto, halva, fava bean protein products, licorice and honey chips. Beer/wine/cider industry has begun flourishing too. Good times are ahead.
