You should see the Australians spreading rancid yeast paste on everything.

Americans and Japanese butter their toast, Europeans add jam or nut preserves; fucking Britain and Australia with their Beans and Yeast Colonies in the morning.

Britain and it's prison colony just cannot into food.

Sweet food from takeout? Duking never. I eat out plenty but mostly for savory flavors like fried chicken and gyros. I satisfy my sweet tooth by weekly baking 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies. I eat about 6 every day and share a dozen with coworkers on payday.

If I don't want cookies, honey on toast is fine. Or ice cream if I feel like diarrhea

I've heard the biscuits are extremely similar to something found somewhere in Scotland but I don't know where exactly beyond that.

In the South biscuits are a quick bread made with lard or cold butter and leavened with baking soda. They are cut out carefully with a cookie cutter or similar tool, or else they won't rise right. When they're done you can split them in half and eat them with butter and homemade fruit preserves, some people do this as a side dish with dinner. A popular breakfast item is biscuits and gravy. Sausage gravy is made with sausage meat that's been fried up, and the drippings are used to make a roux that thickens a white, milk-based gravy, generally with lots of black pepper. This is poured generously on the split biscuits.

We have reasons. Sugar results in a softer bread product by slowing prevent formation of gluten strands. It also makes it raise faster. Americans like softer bread and like things faster.
