It’s definitely not that expensive. It’s usually only $2-3 more per pound. You don’t need to eat meat with every meal, not even every day. You won’t starve if you reduce your consumption of meat to 3-4 times a week. You’ll actually be healthier. You’re simply trying to justify the cruelty of factory farming to yourselves by pretending it’s necessary and not just greed and gluttony. If we are to both feed everyone and preserve our environment so that there’s actually something left to feed everyone with, we need to switch to sustainable farming practices. That means ending factory farming of meat.

Someone takes your garbage anon, someone cleans the toilets at your workplace, someone has to hand you your cheap burger with a smile. Do you think they enjoy doing that? Do you think your life would be as comfortable without them doing that? I don't dismiss them as lesser humans, in fact I appreciate their existence because then I'd have to do all those things myself. (And I'd prefer not to.) The world needs a vanguard, the world needs lab rats, the world needs cab drivers, and the world needs intensive farming to sustain them. It's just a fact of life.

>world needs intensive farming to sustain them. It's just a fact of life
That's the propaganda you've had beaten into your head since you were spawned between your mothers piss and shithole. If a fraction of the billions in subsidies paid to unsustainable, petroleum chemical, scorched earth megafarms were directed towards developing larger extensive integrated sustainable farming, it would be just as productive and as inexpensive as the intensive method. But unless we get major reform where the agricultural/chemical industries don't own our whore politicians, it won't happen. So currently, it's the status quo, but the times they are a changin', so we'll see ;)

they aren't subsidies anon, they are tax break. tax breaks that every business, including free range farms, takes. the number is so large because oil is a large business so their 5% tax breaks or whatever are comparably large.

I support your right to eat food from wherever you eat. I hope you do the same for others.

Cheese here is $10 a kg for the cheapest shit you can get, compare that to $7/kg for mince or sausages, $4/Kg for chicken, $8/kg silverside. Milk and cheese can't be a replacement for animal protein anyway, eggs is fair enough, they're cheap and fill the same role, it's also a lot cheaper to buy that shit factory farmed though

Tbh I just fast for a week or so then buy the highest quality pastured exclusive raised dairy and beef/lamb/goat I can find to eat well for a few days and fast again.

Omega 3 balance makes it worthwhile as well as the quality of the product.

I have 60oz of pasture raised A2 creme fraiche in my fridge.

I'm going to be making a traditional ayurveda ghee with it that is done in a way most Indians can't even find today

Raw
Soured
Churned
Clarified

But the bulk of the it will be used for dairy, fish (locally sourced wild caught) and veg (locally sourced, wild crafted) based warm bowls.

Honestly if we focused more on agro-pastoralism with woody and non-woody fodder farming and cropping along with a diversified animal base we could have a high quality protein base that would require people starve.

Also I we follow intermittent fasting of 16:8 or OMAD instead of constantly over eating there would be more for everyone.

Westerners pushing three meals a day was a fucking mistake.

I don't eat intensive farming, almost ever. My butcher has his cows in the mountains nearby and breathe air fresher than I do. I would rather eat quality meat once a week than shit meat twice a day. Besides, eggs from extensive farms are like 40 cents more expensive (per pack of 6) and are ten times tastier. Chicken is like 5€/kg more expensive here, not that bad
