Fuck ramen as the poor mans food. Who else actually ate these for years? Anyone still currently eating them because they're cheap?

El Monterey thread.

I did for a month or two but then I remembered Taco Bell has a dollar menu.

The chicken and rice ones were superior btw.

I have a bag of these in my freezer right now. a minute and a half in the microwave, throw on some hot sauce and I have a decent meal when I can be assed to cook.

does anybody else slightly dab them with water before microwaving to prevent the corners from drying out?

Thanks for reminding me, OP. I LIKE TO MICROWAVE THEM FOR LESS THAN WHAT IT CALLS FOR SO IT DOESN'T SPILL OUT. THEN I FRY BOTH SIDES. LIKE A LITTLE CHIMICHANGA OR SOMETHING.

They're alright. I usually buy extra shredded mexican cheese and throw it on a minute after it's already been nuked until it's all ready. Some hot sauce on the side and you're good to go.

These exact ones are easily my favorite frozen burritos I've ever had. I haven't had them for a handful of years now, but they were definitely really good for what they are.
I had a couple organic ones from a different brand because I live right next to a fresh thyme, but they aren't as good.

>take two of these
>pop them in the microwave wrap side down
>three minutes
>at halfway done, flip them over
>at about 30 seconds left open the wrap
>split a piece of kraft singles
>place on on each
>melt them in the next 30 seconds of cooking
I don't give a shit if kraft singles are plastic, it tastes damn good.

This.
Sometimes I buy a ton of cheap teebz burritos and freeze them for later.
They freeze and reheat quite nicely.

I still eat these. Microwave for 1:30 then toaster oven them till the tips are brown and the inside is bubbly. Before you take em out put a slice of cheese on top. Let that sit for about 1 or 2 minutes on a lower heat. Hot sauce in a little cup to dip.
