Sometimes not often. There's a Chinese joint that has a "traditonal menu" that's pretty damn good. There's also a local joint a block or so away from me, so I'll usually just call ahead and do a take out order, there's no reason to have that delivered when I can easily walk a block or two and pick it up.

Ordering from middlemen types makes no sense to me when I can make stuff myself.

If it's a pizza for instance there is a damn good mom & pop joint right on the block where I live, I can just call ahead and have it done. Why the fuck would I pay for some delivery service that's gonna fuck it up? I'm not some old biddy that needs others to do stuff for me.

Exactly, these middlemen are completely fucking pointless. The closest thing to a middleman deal that I would consider is something like Mcdonalds officially partnering with Uber, and even then why the fuck would I pay 10 dollars for something as cheap as a McChicken? Just order pizza or anything else.
Not only do they charge the shit out of you for the delivery itself, they also tend to markup each food item by themselves. Most of the time they won't even have a restaurant's full menu on the website anyways. Not to mention

I ordered from one of these services while in uni and the driver had an actual fucking sperg fit when I didn't tip him for being over an hour past the delivery time. It wasn't like he was delivering for a busy time either; the restaurant said that they gave the fucker the food ages ago
