Ichiran is a very popular place for Tonkotsu (pork) Ramen.

This is my favorite type of ramen.

Its broth, noodles, pork, scallion and a bit of spice sauce if you want it.

>>12169392
This sounds stuffy, but its absolutely true. If you are eating ramen at "good restaurants" it will be disappointing (and overpriced). Nothing in the US can stand up to what you get in japan, with a couple of exceptions - Mitsuwa Marketplace in Chicago being one of them.

Having said that, I am seeing some improvement in the USA ramen scene in the last 2 years.

The first time I ordered these they came out the other end in the exact same condition. I was afraid something was seriously wrong with me until I remembered I had just recently put them in my body.

Anyway Ichiran is great for quick ramen but if you're in an area that has one (a major foreign city or anywhere in Japan) you have access to better ramen. Here's a local shop in my city. I used to go to Ichiran regularly but I'm not sure I'll ever go again unless I'm really nostalgic.

Properly made soup is anything but boring.

I suspect you've never had good soup so the idea that anything might be better than an instant packet or concentrate from Sysco sounds like fiction to you. There's nothing magical about "ramen" in that regard, it's true for nearly all soups.

ramen scene is decent in LA/OC; two mitsuwa/santouka locations, tsujita-LA serving two kinds of tsukemen, two kitakata locations, two daikokuya, half a dozen shinsengumi; and a lot of smaller locations. imo, only mitsuwa and tsujita come close to what you can find in japan and even then you don't get the same variety; practically every ramen place only does tonkotsu ramen
