Puerto Rican rum has legal standards, so even cheap stuff is ok. I prefer Central American rum to the Caribbean stuff though. Flor de Cana 4 year from Nicaragua is not expensive and good neat, on the rocks, with coke or other mixers. If you want to skip to the best you can get 23 year old Ron Zacapa from Guatemala for 40-50 bucks. Similarly aged whiskey would be at least 200. Apparently labor is cheaper or something. Ron Centenario from Costa Rica is another, sweeter, option.

Question, do any of you exercise, specifically run? I'm a distance runner and I just run more miles to atone for drinking so much. I drink 7-9 drinks per night typically craft beer and wine mix. Don't get hangovers really, maybe a lil fuzzy but I always have an appetite and I feel p healthy. What's harder on the body in the long run, hard liquor or beer? (Assuming you drink the same amount of alc in total)

I think beer dehydrates you a lot more than liquor because you drink such a vast amount of liquid in a short time you'd never drink the same amount of water, which flushes out the minerals in the body leaving you with no sodium for water retention in the body and the beer liquid just goes through your body without being stored leaving you dehydrated, and I think the dehydration is causing a large part of organ failure.

Just my theory I am no scientist.

Over the past year, I went from a fifth of vodka a day to twelve beers a day. Holy shit I cannot tell you how much better I feel. Also, just started taking a Chinese herb, kudzu, supposed to kill alcohol cravings. We’ll see how that goes.

When I drank liquor, I used to go to bed drunk at midnight and I’d wake up four hours later in full panic mode, sweaty, shaking, horrific nightmares.
Now, I drink a twelve pack a day, starting afternoonish. I no longer wake up facing impending death or insanity, which is nice.

Depends on the bar and/or bartender. Usually well means one shot rotgut and a simple mixer. While an old fashioned is basically this plus some sugar, fruit and bitters, bartenders probably don't want to go through the trouble if you're buying a cheap ass whiskey. Perhaps if you're a regular, they're not busy and they know you to tip well they might.

This vodka is 11 bucks a handle and I've not had any hangover issues with it. Had 18 shots (6 triple drinks with a third of the redbull can) the last two nights (got 5 redbulls for 7.45 plus tax on a Kroger buy 5 save 5 deal) and it just doesn't give me hangovers, and I had to work (at Kroger) on Sunday morning at 9. I'm polishing off the rest with the fifth redbull right now, then switching back to the bourbon.
I didn't end up needing the minute maid as a mixer, but I'm now a fan of their low acid/no pulp product.
I swear I'm not al/ck/, I go days without drinking, but this was some of the best value drunkenness I've had in a while, way better than 4lokos or pineapple steel reserve, both which give waking headaches.

the trick is to kill most of it between 7pm-2am sleep until 8ish have a couple throughout the day and start over. it's not that much really. 7hours of devoted drinking time is easily 16-20 refills and that's not even rushed or getting up too often. once every half hour you pour a half cup, no biggie
