I'll be going to Japan in a week.

What are all the things/places I should make a point to eat?
I'm not a weeaboo so I don't care about the anime shit.
Also in b4 Jiro the sushi autistic.

Octopus balls are interesting, definitely recommend that. Jap McDonald’s blows American McDonald’s completely out of the water, the difference is like night and day. Find a nice ramen shop at least once, they’re amazing.

being weeaboo is about liking anything japanese whatsoever, from their inventions, to their food, to their music, to their country. it's not an anime thing, it's purely "I think this japanese girl is cute" then you're a dirty weeaboo

Half these suggestions are retarded and you could get them at Japanese restaurants at home or weeb garbage because they romanticise combinis from their annie mays. Tokyo has world class dining restaurants, do some more research, not on a loser NEET imageboard for autists and weebs. If you aren't retarded you can tell chains from small mom and pop restaurants.

I live near Ueno so I'll introduce some places that I enjoy

Had to delete the links because "spam", so paste the names into google maps if you want to see the locations

>とんかつ檍 浅草橋店
among the best tonkatsu i've ever had. if they ask you if you want the SPF or the komachi, go for the SPF. you can get katsu curry here too but i think you should just stick to the tonkatsu itself

>カレーは飲み物。 御徒町店
you can get (beef)katsu curry here but I prefer to order without and add the garlic pork instead (gaributa). Get the black curry not the red one. 3 toppings are free, I recommend the potato salad, fried garlic, and fried onions.

>日乃屋カレー 御徒町店
the curry is a bit on the sweet side but I love the flavor. recommend the menchi katsu

>Go Go Curry Ueno Okachimachi store
Kanazawa style curry chain (they actually have some branches in New York) The 1000 yen major curry (economy size rice) is a really good deal for a lot of food.

>回転寿司 まぐろ問屋 三浦三崎港 上野店
Great kaiten sushi place, almost always has a line. Their specialty is a really big tuna gunkan piled high for cheap. Other stuff isn't so cheap but the quality is miles beyond shit like uobei/sushiro

>世界の山ちゃん上野アメ横店
Izakaya chain from Nagoya (you might remember it from Yakuza 5). Their specialty, peppered friend chicken wings are awesome, other stuff is just ok. So mainly stick with the wings.

>ラーメンイエロー 御徒町店
Jiro-style ramen. Google to find out what that means but it has nothing to do with Jiro sushi. Recommend extra extra garlic (ninniku mashi mashi) and extra extra pork fat (abura mashi mashi). I also recommend you go directly home afterwards.

>蒙古タンメン中本 御徒町店
If you like spicy, this is some really fucking spicy ramen

えぞ菊 御徒町店
Hokkaido style miso ramen, I like this place better than anything I had in hokkaido. Definitely order gyoza also

This post just proves nobody knows what a weeaboo actually is anymore.
It's about believing anything japanese is inherently superior just because it's japanese.

by your definition of a weeaboo:
>I enjoy anime!
>I ate ramen and it was really good!

by the correct definition:
>Wow the air in Tokyo sure smells better than the air in America!
>The katana is the superior weapon and could cut through weak European swords, that's Japanese craftsmanship for you!

Coco ichiban was easily the best Curry I ate in Japan. But Im not a food snob and like spicy curry so it's either that or a random Indian Curry house.

The only thing I actually made a point to eat was sushi from a restaurant near the port. The freshest fish was worth it.

I wouldn't waste too much time on food related stuff like restaurants with huge lines and expensive food. I suggest you to enjoy the city and eat quickly or on the go.
