I’m Canadian. It’s easy to find in grocery stores, but it’s always life or Presidents choice or some other generic off brand. It’s usually fine for the most part. The only brand name grapefruit soda that isn’t diet that I have ever found here is Jarritos, and I can get a case of 12 off brand for less than 2 bottles of Jarritos. Plus their lime soda is infinitely better.

As for Jarritos, it's way too syurpy for me, after one or too sips, I want to throw the rest of the bottle down the drain or in a garbage can, I don't understand it's appeal.

I think it really depends on where you go. Normal grocery stores are going to offer the same stuff again and again but if you travel off the beaten path and look into corner store type places then you can usually find hidden gems. I suspect that it's true for more places than just NY.
