>> No.11975861

when i was a kid my uncle almost hit a gigantic snapping turtle crossing the road, and for some reason he brought it to my parents, who put it in a pretty deep trough, presumably to get rid of it a lake down the road the next day
it got out and the neighbors found it stalking down their dog, which i have no doubt it could have killed easily
we then realized it was too much of a problem to wait any longer so my dad shot it right in the head and we ate it. was actually pretty good and reminded me of corned beef if i recall. held it's beating heart in my hand for like 10 minutes, too.

Turtle: It was cut into pieces and stewed in a salty soup with some vegetables (can't remember which, maybe some cabbage or something). There was meat, but not that much, and most bits were just boney and unsatisfying. People prized certain bits I remember, but those bits had almost no meat.
